Re: Oscillating Forks

1. When you say "bouncing" do you mean up and down, or is there any side to side? The subject uses the word "Oscillating" and that is different than up and down. Which is it? 2. If it is up and down, does it do it at a steady rate at the speed where you notice it? Up and down is...

Re: Oscillating Forks

I'll pump up the air. Good input

When I rebuild my forks, how much 7.5 oil do I add to each fork?

Electrical Issue

I'm getting som good checkout rides here in Ridegcrest, Ca. I've developed a new electrical problem, my 1978 R100S brake light/turn signal/ volt meter circuit Voltmeter read usually zero, no brake lights or turn signal. It was fine before. But sometime after I removed my turn buzzer relay because it...

Again, good advise. I'm going to replace the seals next week. I'll balance the tire too. I've never noticed a difference after tire balancing before

Re: Oscillating Forks

Hi You will read different opinions on the Emulators. Race-tech springs are also a lot stiffer than stock and reduce your fork travel. If you ride mostly good roads that might not be a worry. Aftermarket rear shocks also have less travel than stock. I fitted their emulators with sonic springs and l...

Oscillating Forks

Next thing to dial in on my 1978 R100S I'm getting a front tire bounce above 75 mph and my front end is very spongy. Racetrch can set me up with their gold cartridge emulator, spring and oil for $400. The forks have to be 36mm. Are my forks 36mm? Is this a good setup for this bike? Thanks in advance...

Side covers

Hi again

Hope all are doing well. Just replaced the rear main seal, and clutch, on Beatrice, my '78 R100S. It went well. Ready to put some miles on the bike. Any tricks to keeping the side covers on?

Thank,
Ron

Beatrice's first 50 mile ride reveals oil leak

Finally got my '78 R100S on the road. Took her to a car wash to clean up the bottom of the engine So I could possibly see where the oil leak is coming from. I'm pretty sure now that it's coming out where the motor and tranny meet. This is probably a must fix now issue, right? It looks like a big job...
