Re: Brake pad installation
Sorry to have taken so long to reply ,but for some reason I couldn't log on no matter what. Brembo still make 11 mm M/C's, they are the only size offered in their short lever M/C's. They were also fitted to Moto Guzzi's which had one 50 mm caliper connected to it (the second one came on with the rea...

Re: Rear hub and Final drive gap
I have had problems with new seals for both the final drive and rear main crankshaft.
Genuine BMW parts fixed the problem, seems they are just a fraction smaller than some of the pattern items.

Re: Brake pad installation
On the ATE swinging caliper it is essential that the caliper swings freely on the pivot pin, and that the pivot pin also turns freely in its housing. I use Honda Moly 60 grease , bought a stash years ago for the splines on the Para driveshaft. Dont think relubing the pin gets much of a mentiona ment...

Re: Can you help me find the oil pressure light power feed?
Luckily on the auto motor in question the big end shells, main and thrust bearings could be replaced without removing the motor, so not a major disaster. I now allway follow the full sump off and flush the oil ways procedure to try and get everything out and refilled with new oil. Valve guides and s...

Re: Can you help me find the oil pressure light power feed?
Always a good idea to drop the sump on a new to you bike that has been standing for some time - DAHIK! A quick check can be done by removing a rocker box, as sludge can sit in the bottom of them too. When you have the covers off you can also check oil flow to the rockers, sludge might have blocked t...

Re: Fuel Starvation
Nice bike, never owned a Guzzi , the Cali was my brothers which I was to borrow for a tour of Scotland.
If it had got me out of sight of his house.
Ended up on his Cagiva Elephant, probably as good a ADV bike as you can buy today.

Re: Fuel Starvation
Just for the record some Mikuni float bowls are vented by by a tube, which on airheads usually points down at the exhaust, but on other bikes the tube is extended a bit further away from the motor. I drove a Guzzi Cali where the extended pipe somehow got too close to the muffler and the heat collaps...

Re: Ignition module issues
Timing mark on my twin plug high comp 1000cc G/S is out of sight too. Folks who actually know something about airheads report that the optimum timing for a stock bike can be up to six degrees from the marks on the flywheel. Add in a few more for twin plugs and them may a few more for any other mods ...

Re: Tubes For Tires...
Just had to replace the Pilot Active on my R75/7 with another of the same and it made me realize that things have changed. I ordered a tube type, but a tubeless one arrived. On the sidewall it instructed that you fit a tube if needed. A phone call elicited the information that that was all they stoc...
