Re: Electrics diagnosis please.

What is it about plugs, leads and coil that make it fail? The old water analogy works - resistance and pressure. The coil has to work harder to jump a wider gap and to push through more resistance - the module doesn't know this, it thinks the plugs had the correct gap with sharp electrodes, and the...

Re: Electrics diagnosis please.

Not experienced with these BMW things - but very experienced with cars using ''ignition modules'' such as fitted to this bike. Re: Dirt Tires on an R65

Riding on New Zealand gravel roads for over 40 years, I take a different approach. http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af212/bmwr65/P8300193.jpg They are Dunlop K70's, 4.00x18 front and rear (the mono has 2.50 rims front and rear) and I run 20psi front, 25psi rear. Previous gravel road bikes were a ...

I kicked one off a couple of weeks ago. I'm using black duct tape at the moment - looks good from across the road.

Re: Riding on the other side of the road

Quite a few head ons from tourists in NZ - the rentals have warnings on the dash, and a lot of roads most likely travelled by tourists have arrows in the left lane....'specially at corners or blind rises.
