And are they familiar with the details of Airhead valves? I don't know specifically what that is, but I've heard it from many people that all heads and...

Valve seat

hi,
I am rebuilding the heads on my R80/7 1980. i would like to change the valve seats so i can use unleaded. on the parts sites i can only find exhaust seat.
For models listed with 38mm exhaust valves ( Suitable for unleaded fuel )
do i need to do the inlet seat also?
Thanks

Re: fork rod seals

got it now
of a parts web site

This is fitted below the 'guide support' at the top of the fork damper unit (the 'guide support' is the fork damper piston which takes the piston rings SUA32059).
Please note; this item does not fit R45 or R65 models.

Kurt in S.A. wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 2:48 pm Would be nice to know...what does 100 metric mean? 0.100mm?

I had work done on my R69S and the mechanic suggested just using fresh standard size rings. Has been working fine.

Kurt

Re: over size piston rings

hi,
1980 R80/7. i measured 3 places on each jug all three were over the tolerance. i have the numbers in the garage but i think the end gap was 90 bottom 100 mid and 110 near the top (metric).
