Re: EME Electronic Ignition
Just a reminder for everyone to check the resistance of all the components in the system. I have had issues with NGK plug caps that don’t conduct any spark, which may well have blown out a Dyna Mini coil, another Dyna Mini that failed, I fitted PVL coils, but got the part nos wrong so the low resist...

Re: Upgrade to Floating Rotors - Save $$$ (How To)
EBC make good floating rotors for airheads , not expensive and they work well.

Re: Dyno tune.
A 70 BHP RS will show around 55Bhp on a rear wheel Dyno, Shaft drive involves real losses in Power and I guess BMW tested on a bare engine, no alternator or starter, with the addition of some magic powder to get to headline figure of 70 Bhp

Keihan make some straight through silencers, ask for the Jim Cray specials, same price as the standard ones but loud and Jim showed some useful power gains.

Re: Does this sound like solenoid?
I had similar issues and sounds, in my case it was due to a poor earth path on the relay, so unlatching the relay under load from the starter motor. The earth path runs via the neutral switch, replacing the neutral switch didn’t help so I used a jumper wire in the headlamp bucket to one of the earth...

90% of airhead electrical problems are down to poor connections at the starter relay.

Re: Boyer ignition?
Boyer ignitions should be timed on the F mark. Don't worry about the actual revs, just set the Boyer on the F mark when the Boyer stops advancing. Ignore the S mark, especially if your Boyer is a Microdigital. Older Boyers like a healthy battery, they revert to full advance if the voltage drops belo...

Re: Brake Light switch on 1979 R65
Over in the UK we have annual inspections 3 years or over, inspections don't cost much and usually my vehicles pass without problems, though a failed catalytic converter on a small alfa was very expensive. I'm happy with the way the scheme manages to get rid of some mobile death traps. Funnily enoug...

Re: Ignition switch problem
Take a look at the Boyer site, and there is work around on the site, or alternatively google Boyer troubleshooting
