You missed the cherry on top of my "poop parfait." The wreckage of the bike got stolen. No parting out or rebuilding for me.

I'm in So Cal. $3100 won't replace an R75/6 but all the ones I see around here shiny restores and Cafe bobbers. The bike had no luggage. It is sounding like a reasonable offer, especially since the wreck got stolen.

I got the insurance offer today on my totalled R75/6:

When I had my R75 I ran the Stromberg diaphragms and the stock ones. If the bike was in perfect tune I could notice a difference in throttle response (stock=faster) but that difference went away after 150 miles. Yes, MS,all the traffic will slow down, but at the same time they will pay VERY close attention to you and where you are.

Ken- I am deciding whether or not to get another bike. If I do it will absolutely have cylinders sticking out the side. Police Oilheads are tempting, however. Highly visible, inspire fear, lots of places to mount extra bright lights and noisemakers. Fun stuff.
