Yeah I've always bought OEM but $2.14 delivered.. I couldn't resist! Anyway, just went back and purchased a Mahle split filter from Amazon for $17.28. Definitely pricey but piece of mind is worth something I guess. Thanks for the input

I used Por-15 in my toaster. It's held up great with zero degradation in over ten years. I recommend it.

Do you know what year? Max's parts fische lists R65's from 78-85 then also 85-87. There's also GS and LS models. Max sells the kit Snowbum talked about for $585.00

Anyone know which H4 headlight from later bikes will fit a '73 /5? I'd like to upgrade and would like a real Bosch setup (glass lense etc.) rather than aftermarket. I've shopped around ebay but I'm unclear which model/year is the right fit for my bike. Any ideas?

Yup, +1 on the black zip tie.

I have the copper washers on my /5, installed by me about nine years ago. Even though they were torqued to spec they've always leaked, it's actually more like a weep. If I were to do it again I'd use a little sealant. Funny Duane, I thought I remembered them being the crush type.
