Re: neutral light troubleshooting
Ok, cleaning the contacts did the trick. also the screw that holds the plug was missing. So probably a combination of the two. Thanks everyone for their input.

neutral light troubleshooting
Hello all,
I just returned from a short ride and when I pulled into the barn the neutral light wasn't coming on. It is a '79 r100. The bike will start with the clutch pulled in but not without. My question is, is it possible that the bulb being burned out could cause this?
Thank you,
Bluesman

Re: bogging down around 50 mph
Thanks Rob, Yes I was planning on replacing both. I just see a wide range of prices on the internet . I read snowbums info and he say's to stay away from the ones Bing sells. I'll probably go with Max's even though they are more expensive but I have always received good service. Has anyone had any e...

Re: bogging down around 50 mph
So, having ridden for about three weeks now and not seeming to have any issues I noticed the last time out that around 70 mph when I roll on the throttle it almost seems like I have a governor on it. It's not missing or bogging it just seems like I run out of throttle. I had noticed on the right sid...

Re: bogging down around 50 mph
Well, I did all the checks that everyone suggested, like float level, fuel flow, main jets etc. but found nothing that I could point a finger at. But as what usually happens I managed to fix it without knowing what was wrong! When I finished up all my checks I went for about a 50 mile ride and it ra...

Re: bogging down around 50 mph
I did check fuel flow also something else I forgot to mention is that I checked the plugs and they were almost white like it's burning very lean! It just started suddenly and did improve somewhat the more I rode it but then would start again. Should I maybe check the advance weights?

Hello All, First, I have a 79' r100 [formerly an rs] w/ 40 mm carbs.
