Can't say I've ever timed it with a stop watch but it does seem to take at least 10 secs of cranking after an oil change for the light to go out and that's spinning the engine over with the plugs out.
Thanks Barry, yep plugs out and green wire removed from the coils.

...howdy folks, remember a while back Tim advised me I must check the piston rings for my excessive oil in the filter box, and yes they were the culprit.
