Re: Squealing Brakes

I put my R80 back on the road yesterday after sitting in the garage for three years and it is my back drum brakes the are squealing loudly. I'm hoping it is merely disuse and that as I ride it the noise will stop.

Re: 1978 R80/7 battery recommendation

The PC935L looks like it would fit in the tray just like the OEM battery. I'm assuming the PC680 is being used by so many because it is about $50.00 less costly and does the job. Hey She'llbe, I had a foreign exchange student from New Zealand in my class this year and all year long I would say to hi...

Re: 1978 R80/7 battery recommendation

So if I understand you, you are saying that with the PC680 in your R90/S you can no longer use your tool tray?

Re: Older airhead shops?

Thanks. I have a place in Vermont and am there often. I do routine maintenance but have never taken it apart to lube the splines and am considering having that done. The bike is original and I have been running unleaded gas in it for years. I'm not sure what kind of wear has resulted and am interest...

Older airhead shops?

I'm looking for a shop in Connecticut or the New England area that works on or specializes in the older airheads. My experience with the local BMW shop has been somewhat disappointing when it comes to having work done on my R80/7. The old BMW's have much more appeal to me than the new ones. After 30...

Re: 1978 R80/7 battery recommendation

Thanks. Did you have to make any modifications for the PC925L or did it fit in properly and accept the existing terminal connections?

1978 R80/7 battery recommendation

I'm new to the board, however, not new to BMW motorcyles, having a 1978 R80/7 for 30 years. I am looking for a new battery for it. I have always liked the OEM batteries, but am also considering a good alternative, not as a money saving measure, but as a better battery. Westco is recommended as OEM I...

R80/7 battery recommendation

I'm new to the forum, but not new to BMW's. I've owned an 1978 R80/7 for 30 years. It hasn't been ridden much in the last couple of years and I would like to put it on the road again. I need a new battery and am interested in the Odyssey battery which I put in my Moto Guzzi and am very happy with. T...
