Re: 90/6 ignition switch/key, and indicators
Did the first year /6 come with the older speedo pod? Originally that light you mention is supposed to be the oil pressure light...it should come on when ignition is engaged and engine not running. The other bulbs in the speedo unit are - @ 30 is the high beam indicator, @ 20 is the neutral light, a...

Re: High number of views for newish posts
Actually that is called a denial of service. I posted about that in this thread. The Vintage BMW forum has also had this issue but they have brought on board a Cloudflare feature which blocks all of those attacks.

Re: High number of views for newish posts
I'm sure those "others" are bots, spiders, etc., that crawl the net looking for content to bring back to their search engines. It's annoying, but it's a good way for the info from this forum gets out there. The difference can be something like 10-20 to one for each actual member.

Re: Pushrod towers leaking
I thought you mentioned that they were at least 10 years old. The seals are supposed to be squeezed against the engine. If they've lost their elasticity, they'll crack and you're back where you started. Maybe the cost of the seals is prohibitive??

Re: Pushrod towers leaking
Exactly where does the leak come from? Hopefully it's not the oil pressure switch. From what I can tell, the collars on the tubes that push on the seals are brazed to the tube... (say post 1981). Using anything to push the collar tighter like begins to pull the tube out of the head...could create an...

Re: R75/5 blowing fuses when starting
Use a 12v bulb/wire setup to bridge the contacts for the fuse. If the bulb lights up, then you have a problem. Pull parts of the wiring harness until the the bulb goes out. When that does, you will have started the process to isolate the problem area.

Re: Hi from London England!
I've never liked the notion of finding the side with the loose or slack rockers to figure out where I was. If the valve clearances were set wrong the previous time, then you're starting off from a bad spot...they could be so tight there's no slack or their both too loose with too much slack. With th...
