Oz Boxerworkers 2021 "up yours covid" ride.

Post by SteveD »

This last week or so we've been talking about it and almost had a date, then a local covid scare put an end to any firm plans.

The earliest would be September sometime, but it'd be no surprise that we'll be able to in October. Hopefully.

The weather will be better then
.

About time someone posted in motorcycling on Boxerworks.
Do we know where we're going yet, Steve? Still Darlington Point? Doesn't really matter I spose.
Just the right time of year now for a pub with a big open fire.....

Hey Steve, Jeff
Well, if COVID means we don’t get a chance to get together in September, there is still the /5 rally at Blayney in October. All welcome for camping at my place, Blayney is only about 40 minutes from here.

Days are getting longer, 1 minute 25 seconds more daylight here today than yesterday. Woohoo!

The OzMob is back, and thinking about actual motorcycling. It's been a while ... and could be a while more until we are free to cross borders. That's kind of ok with me since Brunhilde is still sulking in the shed. At least she's not gathering spider webs on the front porch like she was last year:

This was the result of a little 'off' we had on the very muddy Barry Way after the 2020 Cold Flame Rally.

So yeah, Blayney in October will be fine with me. Just caught the COVID scores for NSW - not good.

We're a moving target aren't we! Brissie now shutting down for 3 days.

It just complicates things is all. We'll get there.

Mal, good idea re the /5 rally.

I was chatting to Bob in Narrandera tonight and we both were thinking, what with the NSW delta situation, that our dates might prove optimistic. Keeping an open mind however, fingers crossed.

We might need to shorten the forward planning to like two bloody weeks! Try and get in between the frequent lock downs.
What happens when there's equal cases on both sides of the border? :geek:

The moving landscape isn't helping, but an opportunistic catchup might be the way to go. There's too much going on just now to even think it'll work for 8-12 weeks I expect, best case scenario?

Last weekend I had a Sunday ride planned with two friends, mostly dirt roads in the Kanangra wilderness, out past Jenolan caves. We figured we would have the place to ourselves with the Sydney 4wd clubs in lockdown. Then they announced the whole State was locking down. So we took a quick loop Saturday to Tarana Pub, arrived half hour before the 5pm lockdown, then back through Locksley.

Still, enjoyed the quick ride and, ol’ starker ran strong on the back roads (Note to self - the kidney pounding iKons need some adjustments)

Yeah sadly I don’t think there will be any getting together this side of Christmas, but, as the Newcastle Song goes,
… if there is a break in the traffic…
