Hello!
I have a 4 speed in my r75/5 that is running on overtime. Heavy clonks and has started "whining" on 4th gear. Looking to overhaul it when i get the time. I have a 5 speed from a r75/6 that i will put in the bike while the 4 speed is waiting for the renovation.
BUT!
The transmission from the /6 has a linkage instead of the shifter directly from the gearbox. Ive searched a bit and cant find any r75 bikes that has this. The linkage is adjustable and operates on the footpeg (bolts to the engine bolt) so it fits directly to my /5.
The only similar construction i have found is used on the r100 bikes, so maby the gearbox was changed in the r75/6 i took it from?
So will this work with the clutch in my r75/5? Will the splines have the same size etc?
Best regards
Johan
Changing gearbox, r75/5
Re: Changing gearbox, r75/5
It will bolt right up. The shifter can be swapped with any other style that has the #5 allen bolt through the middle, but you are looking for #2 .
Re: Changing gearbox, r75/5
Ok! Good to hear!
The linkage and all fit on my /5 but i really dont like it, feels sloppy and has play in it. Ill rather just have a shifter that goes straight in the transmission. So now i just need to find a shifter..
