Ive read a bit about it on the pages you've send. So its a /5 bike from '71, its only one of the fork legs which seems to be broken in some way. I bought it this summer, and tried to change the fork oil, none came out of the left fork leg. I thought, okay - maybe there simply any in it. But i couldn't pour any in it, like it was already full, so i guess theres something which sort of "clogged" it, maybe a broken bearing or some other rubber part.
I have been looking on this kit: http://www.boxup.eu/index.html?bmw_r50_ ... steile.htm
Including bearings, rings, spring and so on
My actual question now i guess is: Depending on ho bad it looks, say if only it is the oil sealing rubber parts needs to be replaced, do you guys think it still is a good idea just to replace it all?

If no oil is coming out of that leg I would guess the bumper pad at the bottom has disintegrated and is blocking the hole.
Very common to be replacing this item, they don't last forever. Your new kit should have what you need.

Poke some wire up the drain hole. It won't hurt anything.

Re: Front fork 75/5
Give this bike the stiction test before and after your work. From experience, I can tell you that it is very unlikely that it can be a good operating fork after just that bit of simple repair work.
I hope that it shows up as stiction free before and after the work.

When I did a simple "right-click highlight Google search 'stiction test'", I came up empty.Duane Ausherman wrote:Give this bike the stiction test before and after your work. But when I prefixed it with "BMW motorcycle", the first 3 hits were for your site, Duane!
