Thank you for your reply. Ideally I would like the length from the top triple tree to the axle during normal load. Maybe it's just easier to buy the bike first and then decide on the new front end.
This 'could' be of help; I just measured my '74 R60 from axle CL to top of upper triple tree while perched on the bike under load. Distance = 28 and 1/4". This load would be my hefty 195 lbs, but the springs are actually good (compared to those on my R75 which need replacing). Heck this might draw comments about that being out of spec ;-)
