Well.... lets face it. No matter what you ride, it ends up being two wheels with an engine rolling down the road. Yes a Graphite RS with nicely tanned, stainless exhaust would be pleasant; an old Suzuki Titan for a very small fraction will get you essentially the same experience.

edit: and I proved that either the CBR250R or ME is not a light-touring mount. Personally, I think my ass is toast. And I would need to spend 6 months to a year getting myself in shape before I would attempt another inter-state ride (and those are Eastern States! [small]). Don't let the lack of a garage stop you. For years at my old place I had only a cover to protect my GS. Use a sock full of mothballs to keep the animals out from under the cover; you don't want to know what kitty-pee burning off of a header smells like.
