My thoughts too Ken, I thought about posting how Duane always pipes up with the most common sense thing to do.
Sometimes I don't think he gets it.

Mikey at Martindale Motorcycle Works sold me a new flange for $35 and changed it out for $60. He had the special tool and two people and what he described as a mild amount of violence.

As soon as the new bolts come in (see Bolts 101) - I will have it back together. No drilling, tapping, welding, or other more satisfying repairs.

The flange itself was a more sophisticated part than I thought it would be:
