Weather is looking good for Benalla - 'partly cloudy' on Sat and Sun. 'Shower or two' for Borderburg, so good to take wet weather gear for the ride home. A Super Moon will provide the light show for Saturday night. The moon will be only 221,556 miles away. Better bring your shades.

I reckon Doug should ride down after his choir gig on Friday night. What a fine entrance he would make, peeling off his riding clobber down to the penguin suit, just like whatsisname in that James Bond fillum.

Ah, we'll be needing a photo of your barber-shop-quartet outfit. For the record. Is Dan Carberry in your crew?
See you there. Ride safe.

My head hurts.

Some good riding over three days, the country side looks beautiful.
I caught up with a few friends that I've ridden with for the last 30 years.
Every one except one rider was on a bmw, what's with that?

Saturday night was very clear, and at about 2:00 am the two full moons looked fantastic! I went to bed soon after.....

Ah yes, another motorcyclist get together doing what ya do when motorcyclists get together.

We need another get together before George's winter solstice rally, and the Alpine rally the following weekend.......Queens birthday long weekend at Yarringobilly.

I didn't do so well in the photo dept. this weekend, maybe Charlie or Doug or Pete might have some?

It was a good weekend!. An exciting ride on Saturday up the King Valley over an obviously very popular road for bikes.. The road hugs the side of the valley climbing steeply along the escarpment with spectacular view across the Victorian Alps.. just when you needed to keep your eyes glued to the road. Miss a corner and you could end up in thin air hundreds of metres down the valley and probably never be seen again!.A Cheshunt burger with the lot is a sight to behold and it sets you up for the day!...but next time I do the ride I'm going to stop and smell the view.
We then headed down about 40kms of dirt road down to Tatong through a pristine forest past Stringy Bark Creek famous in the Kelly legend.. as the site of the shooting of 3 police officers.
This was my first substantial ride on dirt!.. and I survived. It was a trip through iconic hill and bush country.. and looking great after such a wet season.

By this time, we were all in need of a cup of tea!.. and the destination was Ken and Sandy Knox's place at Benalla.
It looks like no one took any photos so for the record, there was Ken, Jeff and son Daniel, , Mike , Pete, Charlie and someone Ive forgotten that chewed the fat till the very small hours after great hospitality provided by Ken and Sandy..
Sunday came all too quickly and despite the seductive lure of more adventures, we all went our ways back to domestic duties.. the bloody grass to be mowed, and preparation for the work week ahead..
We should do it all again soon!

Thanks blokes for a great ride and great companionship
