A sad announcement about Dennis Kanderis

Post by CVA-42 »

With great sadness, and on the chance that there are a few on this board who knew him, I want to let you know that Dennis Kanderis died suddenly on Friday, April 29. Dennis operated Thunder Road Cycle in Denver back in the 1980's, then moved to Atlanta in the early 90's where he worked at the old Blue Moon shop on Skin Alley in Norcross. Dennis moved back to Denver for awwhile where he worked at BMW of Denver, returning to Georgia in the mid-90's when he opened Lakeside Cycle in Cumming. Dennis was bit of a free spirit - - always light hearted and fun to be around. His knowledge of BMWs and virtually all things mechanical was encyclopedic. Dennis was a restorer, painter, sidecar specialist, a true diagnostician, and a mechanic par excellence. He truly understood the machinery he worked on and it wasn't limited to BMW motorcycles. Pulling up to his shop, one never really knew what would be parked there - - two wheels or four. Through motorcycles he became a friend of mine and so many others. He leaves behind his older daughter Crystal in Colorado, his wife Amy, and their eight year old daughter Emily. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 P.M. this Wednesday, May 4, at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church located at 86 Mt. Vernon Highway in Sandy Springs, GA.
Matt - - I'm assuming you knew already. I've talked to Katie and Gerry. Gerry asked me to let as many people know as possible.
