Thanks guys.

I'm leaning towards the brushes at this point, though I did fuss with them (replace them) 8 months ago and figure they are okay...at least material wise.

I do have a question about the snail springs that hold them down....what is the best way to 'wrap them up' to proper tension and inserting them into the slot to be able to press down on the brush?

What if it still seems like the brushes are not seated properly...? Should i get new ones? Springs?

I'll try to tension the springs a bit more and see if that helps.

The battery is 9 months old, and I kinds doubt that's be the problem,

Ride on.,

Thanks!

The fact that you replaced the brushes recently, does seem to indicate that the springs are not preloaded enough, I can't remember the detail of how to increase the preload, but try to give them a further turn round the post.

Actually, you only need to move the springs center tab 180 degrees in the slot. A full turn would be too much.
