I have an R90/6. I'm looking for a project tank, but am confused by what model tanks fit what model bikes. Will a /7 tank fit a /6? If not, what model tanks do I look for?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: what tanks fit what?
IIRC, the /7 tanks were short and the seats where long. For the /6, the tanks were long and the seats were short. So, putting a /7 tank on a /6 will result in a 2-inch gap or so at the back of the tank. I think the way I had seen this pictured was:
/6 -- SEEEEAT/TANK
/7 -- SEAT/TAAAANK
7/6 -- SEAT/ /TANK
The other combination won't work.
Not sure how the /5 tanks work...there were various sizes of those.

Re: what tanks fit what?
I have a /7 tank on my 1975 R90/6. I thought I had the original seat, but maybe I don't. There is no gap between the tank and seat.

Re: what tanks fit what?
/5 & /6 tanks are shorter than the /7 tank.
Therefore, a /7 tank will interfere with the /6 seat.
A /7 seat & tank will fit on a /6 mc.
However, a /6 tank with a /7 seat will leave @ a 2" gap.
Under tank master cylinders and frame mounted electrics
may also pose "bolt on" fitment issues.
R90S tanks and seats may be an exception to the rule ???
