I need a little charging help.

Post by p1800cpe »

My charge light on my r100cs is staying on while the engine is running. The strange thing is, the charge light does not come on when the key is turned on. The light comes on and stays on as the engine revs. Does anyone have a list of tests that I can perform to test the system? Any help would be great. Thanks, tom

Snowbum describes in excruciating detail how to trouble shoot the charging system.

I wish somebody would make a trouble-shooting flow chart for our bikes. I mean, somebody besides me.

Every Airhead owner should own the booklet by Rick Jones from Motorrad Elektrik on Boxer Charging. That has all the diagrams and steps you need to troubleshoot the charging system. Well worth it.
