Thanks
The stock coils are 6V, they are the exact same size as a VW coil.
Actually the Bosch VW coils are a bit larger diameter. The stock mount brackets will still work, but you may need to get slightly longer bolts to mount them.

Good shot, Tim. I was looking for a place to interject this.
You may need to raise the rear of the gas tank too or there will be rubbing and something will be damaged. It doesn't take much but BE SURE the bottom of the tank and the edge of the new coils don't touch. Be sure also to note the connection scheme for the primary wires! They won't work as well if you hook them up backwards.

Lifebeat, the coils we are talking about used to be called "Bosch Blue" for hot-rodding your beetles. Now they are chrome but inside they are still supposed to be "Bosch-Blue".
Paint them Blue if you want to make a fashion statement.

Because they're a tad bigger, it's a good idea to add extra support for the flimsy bracket the coils attach to. They break too easy. A couple of cable ties around them both will add the support to the frame to prevent breakage.
