Hmm, my megaphone mufflers are straight, as opposed to up swept. Here's the "specs" on what I have now:

1 3/4 inch inlet diameter, 4" diameter exit (not counting the tip which would add about 6" overall). I can't remember the length but they are not shorties. I'm not around the bike right now so I can't easily check, but I'm guessing 18" to 20" including the inlet pipe but not counting the bell.

Go here and you can see a pic of the bike. It was taken last spring when I got some help (meaning I watched them do it) extracting a couple bikes to take to Idaho. What you're seeing in the pic has the very tip of the of the megaphone cap rusted off, so you can't see about an inch or two of the very end.

I'm guessing that yours have a 1 5/8" inlet being up swept. Many of the pre-unit construction Triumphs had the 1 3/4" inch header pipes. I'm thinking that all of the unit construction Triumphs have the 1 5/8" headers. If your megaphone mufflers had the 1 3/4" inlet inlet I would probably be able to still live a fulfilling life with them being up swept. Let me know if you think your's might be compatible?

Here in SoCal, the Airheads recommend Vrla and Foreign Speedo. I chose the latter since we go down to SD every now and then-- decided to drop it off to save postage and check them out. It's a two-man business in a very small shop. Looking around, I saw LOTS of Airhead speedos and Tachs in the shop. They fixed my odo & trip meter and recalibrated it as well. bottom line: Excellent work and a very reasonable price.
