R1100 Crankshaft specs

Does anyone have a manual that would cover the 98 R1100 Crankshaft bearing specs????

I need the crankshaft end play spec for the thrust bearing.

I have .005" end play & a knock that I'm trying to locate. generally .005 seems way excessive to me.

Please tell me.....

Airhead spec is 0.003" to 0.006", so you may be fine. I won't be able to check my Oihead manual until I get home tonight.

The problem was indeed a worn rear main (thrust) crankshaft bearing.
With no history on the machine, it's hard to imagine why that bearing alone should have been worn out at 72,000 miles while all the others were fine.
I installed a low mileage (14,000) used engine.
See the photo of the failed bearing. Case closed!
