I like the look a lot. Why would they detune the motor so much from the original? I wouldn't think that would save money at this point in the development unless there was some expensive part omitted.

Too heavy.
"Urban" scrambler maybe.

Hopefully.... they detuned it for better throttle response at lower revs.

The changes dropped the torque peak 500 rpm, but it seems like you give up an awful lot for that: peak torque and peak HP. I'd wanna see side-by-side torque curves to be convinced that it was really a good idea. It may well be that it's made a huge difference in the flatness of the torque curve below the peak.
