Brunhilde refurb update
Re: Brunhilde refurb update
Very nice Charlie, You say you put the receipts somewhere, I think I'll try that. Now where did I put those other receipts?

They'll be 'somewhere safe', She'llbe. Mine are 'somewhere safe'.She'llbe wrote:Very nice Charlie, You say you put the receipts somewhere, I think I'll try that. Now where did I put those other receipts?
Safe from perusal is best. The numbers must be awful.

The rest of it I just wasted.

Gidday fellas,
Charlie great job, you should be very proud of the end result and as you sit back with a drink in hand staring at all your hard work give yourself a good pat on the back as there is not a better feeling than what you have just done knowing that you will now get many more years of reliable service from your bike.....
Congrates and enjoy...

Re: Brunhilde refurb update
Love the wood, Chuey. And I'm pining (even cedaring) to give Dougie more wood.
Brun got her first wood yesterday - I needed some knobs for the new individual enricher stalks, and happen to have a bunch of old ebony violin tuning pegs. I've always carried a couple - they are perfect for plugging fuel lines, and the offcuts will continue in that role ...

Ignition key also got a bit of customising with an old Bakelite knob ...

And Brun's battery got a new s/s strap. She's never had a strap before ...

Where will it all end? By the way, in that top photo you'll notice a fat black cable heading in an odd direction. This is the old tacho cable, no longer required but still happily revolving. I could remove it, but keep thinking that it should be used somehow. I could fit attachments to it. A paint stirrer? Toothbrush? Maybe a wooden propeller out the front under the headlight? Pondering continues ...
ps: Grant, ol' chap - thanks mate. I do like to sit back and look at the result. She's always been the most battered looking bike at any gathering, but no less loved for that. I am a bit worried that this tart-up will lead to an OCD cleaning fetish. I'll get over that pretty soon, I reckon.

You know who has "a bunch of old ebony violin tuning pegs"?
Only cool people, that's who!
