Me too, but I've run off-brand diaphragms for nearly twenty years. no problemo on my 40mm.
Same here but with both sizes -- 32 and 40. Stromberg diaphrams. They're a bit thicker that stock. I can't tell any difference with performance. Last I checked, they were just a few bucks apiece. I see Max's gets 28 bucks for a set of two.

I too have used the Stromberg diaphragms, both 32 and 40 mm carbs, and had no issues. Being thicker they may not even tear as quickly as the stock diaphragms, which seem to only last a decade or two. ;)

Those same Stromberg diaphragms are listed for other cars as well. An import car parts house may be able to get them.

Too bad there aren't substitute items for those damned floats!

When I had my R75 I ran the Stromberg diaphragms and the stock ones. If the bike was in perfect tune I could notice a difference in throttle response (stock=faster) but that difference went away after 150 miles. The difference did not justify (to me) the 8x price differential.

Moss Motors in Riverside, CA carries them and does interwebs orders.
