Wheels are back...

I got a little distracted with the grouchy '59 Johnson 35hp outboard on my boat the last few weeks, so I've been busy finishing up a carb rebuild and lower end re-seal on that trying to get some fishing in this summer. The wheels have kicked me where required and I'll be back to work directly. :)

Okay, after like 150 beers, eight Harbor Freight wire wheels, a couple gallons of degreaser and a lot of cussing, she's back on her wheels...
The camera that had all my before pictures for reference on re-assembly got stolen with my backpack when some a-hole broke into my Land Cruiser, so progress was hampered but I think I'm mostly on the way now. Gotta love the internet. Hope to get the motor in here soon.

For some reason I can't get more than about 2/3rds of a picture to show up on the forum, so just click on the pic and that should take you to the hosting site. Anyway, I feel like this thing is starting to look like a real bike again. Got the steering stem lock, tool box door, center stand and a bunch of other miscellaneous junk cleaned up and re-installed this evening. I ran the motor mount bolts through the holes just to get the engine off my workbench, but am a little perplexed by the hardware I have vs the clymers manual description. Anyone have any advice/pictures on what the motor mount stack-up should look like? Remember, I got this thing delivered to me in a series of milk crates...
Oooof. I really want to get this done, but I still have to send off the cylinders, heads and trans for re-work. One step at a time I suppose.

When you/we right click on the image we can see the whole pic......... and it's well worth a right click. ;)

So any hints on the motor mount hardware? My manual isn't very helpful. I have two spacers, each about, oh I don't know, maybe 8mm thick. They are labeled with the other nuts as engine mount hardware and the pictures I've found don't help much. What should the lower engine mount hardware stack look like?

Try taking the picture at a lower resolution or resizing to something like 600x 400.

Regarding the engine mounts, do you know about the MaxBMW fiche? There you'll find exploded drawings of the various assemblies. Look under "frame" for engine mounts: http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/ ... d=04302013

No, DON'T! I MUCH prefer being able to right-click and access the nice high rez pic.

No, but I do now! That's very useful, thanks. The one in the Blue Moon catalogue didn't seem to have enough resolution. So I guess the spacers just go on the left side of the engine if I'm seeing it correctly. Also, anyone know if there was a fender emblem that said R69US or were they all just R69S? The only ones I've seen are the R69S.
