And even though it is embossed on one end "outside - toward filter cover", there have been reports of "my engine makes funny noises since I changed the oil" on the forum.

I remember when I was that young - I just replaced my bike every two years - until I got the R65 that is!

So, replacement of the bike was cheaper than changing the oil filter?

No, the CL360 was my "learning bike".
Then the XS750SE was my poor man's BMW.

Then I finally came up with the money for the R65.

Since I am not mechanically inclined (just curious), buying a $500 airhead and making it work was beyond my scope.

But I don't think that is new to anyone that has been on this board for a few years!

I am installing Givi saddlebags on the CBR this week.

One package of my Givi racks arrived yesterday (long story), and they are mounted on the bike. The are the side rails that terminate in a standard Givi platform at the rear for a top box.
There are side loop mounts for the saddlebags. Hopefully they will arrive tomorrow.
You see, Givi USA has chosen to ignore the CBR250R market. We have only recently been able to get the specialized mounts out of Thailand.
I had what I considered to be a very nice luggage rack on the bike already, and I wanted to see if I could fit the special bag mount loops to my Ventura hardware. So I ordered that stuff a la carte.
Then I got to thinking about it, and came to the conclusion that the Ventura mounts were not as robust as the Givi mounts, which were designed for the stresses.
So I buckled and ordered the rest of the mount kit. Only the second order arrived before the first! But that is O.K., because they were the first part to be mounted on the bike. And that is done.

Even though the saddlebags are Givi's smallest (E21) they will hold a lot for commuting.



But I think I am going to get their smallest Monokey top box just to cover up that platform. Then I won't have to take my helmet in to work with me!



I think I am going to electrify those red reflectors.

I'll need to see a pic when your done. I'd like some bags fro my 125 and some of the 250 racks will fit it.

I'll be happy to oblige. The bag loops seem to be taking a while to get here from San Francisco.

There seem to be two people in Thailand that are supplying U.S. riders - 'sac' and 'nakdrdr'.
I don't know if availability is different in Canada. Probably not, or we would be seeing transactions from there to the U.S.

Rob, have you ever been to San Fransisco? Did you wear some flowers in your hair?

Now, what I'm getting at is that you should probably make your own bag loops because everybody in San Fran is a fruit or a nut. The only thing that gets done there is a passel of tie dye and tons and tons of micro chip development. Bag loops are most likely farmed out which would be fine if anybody wasn't too stoned to ship them.

And yes, I have been to S.F., in 1966. At 10 years old though, I was not quite ready for flowers in my hair.
