Just like a helmet, the most important quality is fit, so it's really so hard to know without having an opportunity to actually try it on.
Since it seems to have no surface protection, I wouldn't trust it under jeans, but it certainly would work under unpadded leather.

When will you have your jacket? I'm keen to check it out!
Finally got my Motoport jacket in the mail yesterday and was able to get out for a couple of hours on the bike. Will start a proper review thread (w/pics) in a few days, but here are a few initial thoughts.
It fits great, as it should, it was custom made.
Very odd feeling, soft, stretchy material, makes it super comfortable, but makes one wonder if it is really as tough as claimed.
It does breathe fairly well. I was told that the material would allow air through something like a new denim jacket and I do agree with that. It was warm yesterday, and was quite comfy underway. The massive back protector and rib armor does restrict ventilation when stopped.
I can't yet comment on the inner liners as it is just too warm out for anything other than a trial fit.

I would really appreciate an opportunity to see your new jacket.
Yesterday I rode into town with mesh jacket (Joe Rocket) and mesh pants (Triumph) I froze my ass off along the ocean (where I live) but once I was in town it was quite comfortable in the searing heat of 26C!

They go great with a beret.
