Sorry to hear your distaste for trumpets. I will always have a soft spot for them. After all, whitworth tools have to serve SOME purpose.

This takes me back. Some 35 years ago I had quite a bit of Whitworth tools etc. My solution was to give them away to a friend who had some Brit iron. He still does, stuff that doesn't run. I only had one condition. He had to never give them back to me. It was a one way gift.

Now he has those things made in India. They don't run, so I asked why he didn't get a BMW. He used to have them and his father only rode BMW, so he grew up around them. His answer, "They cost too much."

One can spend some money and have nothing, or spend more and have something. I never understood those who chose the former option.

No BMW has ever cost me a cent. I have come out even on a few, but way ahead on most, as that is how I made a living in the distant past. I call that something for nothing.

Thanks Duane, my vibration on my RS is taking me back to the T-140 days myself. I guess my idle adjust is out, but I have not built a jig to do the shorting method for adjustment. I am planning on making a jig from standard light switches with the coil feeding the switches, and one position of the switch feeding the plug and the other connected to chassis ground to protect my electronic ignition & coils. Hopefully at some point I will get the vibration under control on this bike.

He confused you with a capitalization error. He meant "Trumpets."

This thread has clearly turned and has nothing to do with the title which surly had something to do with making Harleys more quite.

PM me your address and I'll send you some cut down spokes so you can synchronize with the ShortMeister method. One piece per side, installs without tools. Pix and an explanation are found in my build thread.
