Yes, valve guides can definitely suck that much oil, or more. You know the procedure for checking if it's the guides, yes? Have someone follow you and, if you spew blue smoke when you chop the throttle and decelerate, that's a sign it's sucking oil through the guides.

Mine chews about the same.
Excellent compression and leak down. Goes well.
It blows blue on acceleration so I appreciate the advice that it might be the oil scraper rings.
I will get around to fixin it one day.

The procedure submitted by MS works well. It works even better if done at night with the person's headlights on you. Start by accelerating in a higher gear from 30 mph and leave it at the fully open throttle up to at least 60-70 mph. Smoke at that run up tends to show ring condition. Then chop the throttle and allow it to back down to around 30 mph. I suggest down shifting this time to keep rpm up. This shows valve guide condition, more or less.
You may wish to repeat just to make sure.
It also is great to compare with a bike that isn't using oil. Once you do this with a few bikes, you will get an idea of how it should show oil.
The advantage of daytime is that black smoke shows up better. That is fuel from being too rich. You are looking for what many call "blue smoke" but to me it is white.

Yeah, I think it looks a lot whiter in headlights at night.

I've been meaning to have my wife follow me to have a look for the past few weeks; frankly, we've both been working so much on the property that we are just cleaning up and plain tired as the sun goes down...

No. Not even snow can make that look whiter.

My barber pointed out that I am starting to get some white hair. I am just glad that I have hair.
My best high school friend has very thick brown hair, still.
