Well, Vanzen's experiences have been different than my own.
As far as touch-up, either I measure my results by a higher standard, or Vanzen is more talented than I. I find touching up paint to be more successful because I can touch it up with the exact same product.

I bought one of those Harbor Fright sand blasting cabinets some time ago. When the valve covers get a bit crusty looking and need a spit shine, I'll do a quick blast over and wash. After they're dry, I'll use a satin high temp black spray can on them, maybe five or six coats. After a couple hours of dry time, I'll use the bench grinder wire wheel to buff the paint off the stripes. It takes a bit of finesse, but the results looks good. If not, just spray'n buff again until it's right.

A little late for my reply but I have had great success with VHT products. Some of which can be purchased from local auto parts places. I have bought from

They always have what I need and are quick to fill orders. The brake caliper paint really hangs on once baked or dried with hot air dryer.
