So do you want to have us call you Dubhan now? That link you provided indicated it meant song, but digging further in Gaelic names it comes up with Dubhan and meaning dark or black.

Duane Ausherman wrote:I am black. Duane is a word in the Gaelic language and the English translation is the color black. I am black. Duane = black.

Don't you people ever read stuff? I didn't say that my skin was black, you told yourself that interpretation.

Um, OK, "Black"---and so what would "Ausherman" translate to from Gaelic?

hey drcollie.

This crowd is easily lead astray, but but don't give up on us. There are people here that do know their way around airheads and can be of help.

Nice bike.

Yes, it is a very nice bike, dr! Can you flat-foot it? :)

You are a good person, Brad.

Most the time I have owned and ridden, and raced modern bikes, this is only my second foray into an older machine, and this one is MUCH older - should be fun.

A few years ago I found a rare 1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 that had been sitting in a warehouse for years. It popped up on Craigslist one day and stopped me dead in my tracks. They only made 192 of those bikes and only 50 came to the USA/Canada. It was ridiculously cheap and 10 miles away. The original owner had parked it when he attempted to fix a problem, and threw all the parts into a bucket. Over 20 years in a working warehouse beat the bike up pretty good, but everything was there and that became my Winter 2012/2013 project. Guzzis are not like BMW's, the Italians will pretty much put anything on the bike if the run out of something and that will give you fits in trying to repair something. For example, they run out of red wire for 12v positive in the harness, no problem - they have some orange wire and use that instead, don't worry about the color coding! Here was my finished restoration on that bike and I rode it just 92 miles before coming to the reality that I am far too old to ride in a tuck position like that....and so I sold it off and made a little money on it.

This Airhead looks to be a bit easier to work on and there appears to be much better parts availability. I'm going to unstick the carbs tomorrow - or at least get starter on them. Will be fun
