I've been getting the garage (AKA Rally Central) and the shop ready. One thing about rallies, they force me to clean up my premises. And I've actually found places to put, what is it now, more than 2 years worth of new "stuff"?

It's amazing to me that I somehow manage to put stuff away somewhere, stuff that I previously couldn't figure out where the hell to put it.

One TV show that I refuse to watch is "Hoarders". Though I"ve never seen an episode I'm pretty sure I'm not like those people. But just in case, I don't watch.

Y'all will notice little difference though--except for some new old stuff I've brought here from Boise. The thing is, Boise has a good Craig's list and I've found more things that I have to have too, in addition to Boise.

I don't know much about the why and the where. I can tell you that in Boise I know of 4 gas station that sell no-ethanol gas. The price is significantly hither but theoretically (at least with computer engine management) no-ethanol gas gives you significantly better mileage.

In both Boise and Mena the stations are non-brand name stations. My guess is that they buy no-ethanol gas from a an independent supplier. Also a person can buy very high octane racing gas at a very high price. (I know of one such place in Boise.) I have a brother-in-law who drag races vintage muscle cars. Racing gas is very expensive, but I guess you don't burn that much in a quarter mile, even WFO.

IIRC he burns no-ethanol gas for cruising.

Editing: I wonder if a person can still buy leaded gas at an airport, or if that has been shut down. I think you had to lie and say it was for your plane.

the % of enthanal is regulated by the state, all 5 stations near me sale no enthanol gas, the Shell tried to sell 10% ethanol for 2 month then sucked it out after they lost money because nobody would buy it. As for tree huggers, we barely have enough trees for the dogs to pee on, let alone for people to hug, got to go east of !-40 to find a lot of trees

Hmmm, now that you mention it, the two stations selling non-ethanol in Mena were remarkably un-busy. I did sort of wonder about that. The no-ethanol gas I bought was something like 40 cents per gallon IIRC, though I wasn't really paying much attention. The percentage of modern cars on the road (which is huge) that digest non-ethanol gas could make use of the higher energy content of non-ethanol gas. But I'm guessing that the extra price of the non-ethanol is so much that no net saving results.

Either that or people care less about things like that and drive around taking the path of least resistance (and thought).

Once the rubber was taken out of cars back in the 80s, I think the push back on Ethanol for mechanical reasons is fueled mostly by the sellers of Ethanol cures and by the segment of society that just hates being forced into anything by the gobment. As if any other aspect of their driving around was free from gobment input. (roads, cops, seat belts, airbags, brakes that work and clean air, etc.)

There are probably other good reasons to not like Ethanol policies such as using up prehistoric water resources to grow corn to burn in cars.

I finally gave up on those nice braided fuel lines from BMW suppliers. They are not Ethanol proof. Perhaps this is why we are talking about Ethanol anyway - but I missed that part of the conversation.

I couldn't stand it anymore so I googled IIRC. I was thinking it was a new catchphrase for Ken, but a quick search shows that it has been used on this forum 140 times dating back to 2010. I suppose I should keep up and be cool, but its getting harder IMHO.
