Description: Tree to 30 m high; bark smooth, white or grey or pink, shedding in short ribbons or flakes.
Juvenile leaves opposite, ovate to broad-lanceolate, glaucous.
Adult leaves disjunct, lanceolate, 8–16 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, green or grey-green, dull, concolorous. Umbellasters 7-flowered; peduncle narrowly flattened or angular, 4–6 mm long; pedicels terete, 1–2 mm long. Buds ovoid, 3–5 mm long, 2–3 mm diam., scar present; calyptra conical, shorter than and narrower than or as wide as hypanthium.
Fruit hemispherical or conical, 4–5 mm long, 4–5 mm diam.; disc flat or raised; valves exserted. Scattered and sometimes locally abundant, in grassy or shrubby woodland or forest on moderately to highly fertile soils; upper Macleay R. to east of Tenterfield.
