Replace the wind screen rivets with black nylon
binding screws and nuts.

OMG!

He has all the slots perfectly horizontal.

Yeah, so, everybody knows that horizontal slots break up the airflow so you get less buffeting
at helmet height.

By the way, the proper way to install them is to wrap the end of the screwdriver with masking
tape, hold the screw still and tighten the nut to avoid any chance of the screwdriver slipping and
scratching the screen.

IMO, It was a safety reason that the windshield was attached with plastic rivets.

Nylon screws behave the same way, the heads will snap right off in an impact. I've used them in the theatre to make break-away parts.

Thanks everyone for their constructive input. I will take it apart--the dash is cracked, and needs repairing anyway.
