Raven, welcome back. I re-read most of this thread before it dawned on me that I'd read thumhin like it before and looked at the post dates. I had read it before.
How did you drag that old thread forward onto the new forum?
Did you get a new Flux Capacitor?

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah....you know that blinker fluid people keep mentioning? You just pour some of that into an airhead diode board, plug it into one of those hall sensor things, add a Molex to USB converter and plug it into your computer. It allows you to repost old threads.
In any case, the forum does look good, always forward, never back.....well unless we get hit with a solar flare
I'll be looking forward to posting a bit more, but with this weather I can't just sit in front of the computer. Hell, today I planted my garlic crop of 90 cloves. Yesterday was spent digging beds......playing on a tractor is always torture

Hey Adam,
welcome back.
Banned from adv? Lol, oh well, worse things can surely happen.
Not sure if you remember me but I was following your build over there and we swapped a few messages about a few things.
Anyway, I'd like to hear how your G/S is going, changes you've made, etc.
Work on my G/S is finally about to speed up. Front end swap and a lot of other things.
See you round,

Hey man,
I do remember you, though the subject matter escapes me. Then again, I don't remember breakfast so that's not saying much
On my G/S, I pulled the R100 stuff off with the exception of the forks as they were actually an improvement. Everything else added WAAAAAAYYYY too much weight and actually were a detriment to the bike. The G/S is a light bike and that is what actually makes the bike what it is. Why change a good thing?
Actually, I may sell much of it this winter as I do want a PD tank as the GS tank is a PITA with the vent line etc etc and quite frankly, for the additional 1 gallon is not worth it.

So, if you're so proud of getting banned, is there an ADV string you can link to showing off the "incident" that got you banned?
We love that sort of stuff, you know. Recently looked at the string where Funholiday/Supershaft got himself banned over there. It was only about 5% as bad as his usual behavior over here used to be, and about the same as 1/4 of the people here behave all the time.

Is it just me, or do they seem quick to ban people over on advrider?

Well, feel free to search around, but I basically got disillusioned with riding and especially the typical ADVrider who would rather drink and ride dirt bikes than enjoy the love of riding and said so, this eventually led to me insulting a local ADVrider who was tight with a mod, and one thing led to another and I was told to piss off. What really pissed me off though, was that they also tossed my dads account as well, WTF was that about? Oh well.
In any case, if you ever are broken down and need some help from me, make sure the ADV sticker is gone because I will be unable to help an ADVrider supporter. Sorry.

You don't think that's a little harsh? I understand your dissatisfaction with the way the site is administered, but a rider stranded on the side of the road is a rider, not a site.
It seems to me that they didn't treat you like a person, but just a cog getting thrown under the bus of "rules" (how's that for a mixed metaphor?). Better to not become what you disliked in them.
