Dot 5 is ok if every seal and component is compatible. How will you know that? It's nice that Dot 5 won't destroy paint. Use Dot 4.

to be honest not really sure regarding the seals , the last set of seals in the brake calipers where around seventeen years old before one of them started to weep and im not sure how old they where when i purchased the bike or even if they where OE or not. see how long this set lasts for !

Am I wrong or could the mixing of dot 5 and "proper" stuff be catastrofical. Say if there's some leftovers of 5 in the system after a change and you fill up with 4 or 5.1..
Or is it the plain 5.0 that can ruin thiongs and make them swell?

This thread is degrading very fast and in all directions.
Well done!
For 2valve.

Previously

A short time ago

New timing chain kit.
Rub N Buff Gearbox + New seals etc
Bosch starter overhauled
New clutch parts.
New Rotors + Calipers painted and rebuilt, Forks rebuilt.
A real top triple clamp at last.
Bar backs / risers.

All dressed up and nowhere to go - just yet. Just about to
back into the frame to operate on the jugs leaking push rod seals.

Just a small hole. luckily got the motor stopped quickly.
No damage to the barrel...... just my wallet.
It's a long story.
Edit, also lucky that things were very hot and soft.
