This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

It's difficult catering for the southern and northern Airheads.

It is a long ride for southern folks to get to Mudgee also.

Sibbo. I'm happy to link up with yourself, She'llbe, Future and Mal (and anyone else) for a northern weekend in November. I like the idea of a northern tablelands venue that is central to the NSW mob. It may rule out the Victorian contingent however.

BTW, where are you located?

In another post I suggested Dorrigo and the Dorrigo pub to base the weekend. It is central to some great rides and scenery and I'm still keen. The pub itself does excellent meals.

Guyra has the highest caravan park in Oz. I could stay there for a day or 2. Bellingen sounds nice, I think Charlie said something about Port Maquarie? I think I'd like to not camp as the BOM reckons it's gonna rain like hell til christmas. I'm out of commission after the middle of November,to many commitments til Feb.

Hi Steve ...I'm up in the very top end of NSW ,about one km from the Qld border ...outside Murwillumbah ....about 80 km North of She'llbe .

It looks as if the weekend of 13 /14 Nov is a possibility .My preference is for Guyra up out of the damp if possible ! Pray for dry weather but we're in for a high likelihood of extreme damp !

A van park could be a good idea She'llbe ,as I said above ,it could be pretty damp .

I'm OK with Guyra. They have good tomatoes and great coffee. Plenty of good rides in and about.

I'd like to do cabins as the rainy season has set in.

Is the 13/14th good for others, Mal/Ross?

Here’s a map showing locations of most of the Eastern Oz blokes. Disregard the blue route line. Google Maps insists that it be there.

It makes sense to look at groupings according to location – ‘UpNorth’ (Northern NSW), ‘DownSouth’ (Victoria) with ‘TheGuts’ (Southern NSW) as a kind of overlap area for those of us who live centrally or who want to do the extra kms from north or south. Hopefully it will be possible for all of us to get together once a year at least. In the meantime I think it makes sense to organise local get-togethers. Some will have the opportunity to do a long distance run over a couple of days and there will be ‘cross-fertilisation’ between the groupings.

Now is the season to do a bit of riding. Justifying having a bike can be a bit awkward at times. There is certainly no financial benefit and having the odd quick weekend ride or riding to work is fine, but there is nothing quite like loading up and having a destination and a reason to go, such as one of these gatherings. Getting together with other idiots afflicted with the same antiquated machinery is as good a reason as any to have a good ride.

So, our fine Northern Cousins are organising an UpNorth gig. Goodo.

I did a quick phone-around with some of the Mexicans about the weekend of 12, 13, 14 November. So far Doug, Jeff, Grant, Hans and myself are keen to meet up on the Howqua River near Mansfield. I’ll contact Pete, George and Ray and some others along the way. The invitation is extended to all, of course. I’ll post some stuff about the proposed site soon.

Sounds good Charlie , I'm certainly up for a good ride down South , preferably when it's cool ,just for a change of climate and to finally catch up with you mob of Mexicans of course .That Talbingo ride report made me all jealous !

It's not going to be possible for a few months though so the separate 'clan' meets is a good idea .

Gidday Fellas,

Charlie, thanks for the call yesterday, I was just about to throw the leg over the RS and ride up to Sale to seen one of Dads mates, I had the helmet in the hand and then I seen Lisa come out the door waving the telephone, "It's a Mr Charlie Smith" she said......BTW is thought you were a very well spoken fella....

Yes I will be coming up for the saturday night, Jeff, charlie said that you will/might be bring Daniel along for the ride?? so I asked Codi about it to and he wants in, he's starting to know all the Bakeries and cake shops between here and the NSW boarded, so I hope Daniel is all thumbs up for a camp.....They seen to have a good time if there is a creek involved...

Anyway must go, I have to go and look for a desent big bag for the bike rack now..Talk to you all soon!! :)
Cheers, Grant

Thanks for putting it so eloquently. You really do have a gift for words and a darn good humanitarian to-boot.

I guess I lack a little empathy sometimes when organising stuff; trying to get everyone involved. Ditto all your thoughts.

I think that May (Mardi Grass) in Nimbin is the next big get together. Should be a hoot.

Sibbo, Ross, She’llbe and other northern types. Mal may be offline for a few weeks as he is working out of Wollongong. He was hoping that we could organise a weekend getaway in late November rather than ealier. It just works in better for him and he is dead-set keen after missing out on Talbingo. I’d like to factor him in so maybe the 26th & 27th of Nov?

Over to you.

Ah yes ! To be half as eloquent as our Charlie ...the man has a gift ! :D

Dates ... the weekend of the 27th is out for me .It's my youngest grand daughter's berfday and non attendance is punishable by childhood trauma and a year of baleful looks ...I'd rather eat broken glass !

This dates business is a PITA .We need cloned doubles .
