Mine uses the oem bracket to hold it in. No mods at all. The tool box thing fits in easy.
I picked up the Deka EXT16L. It's a lot smaller than the battery box on my R100. I've got to find some material to make it fit. I'm thinking closed cell foam if I can find that stuff. PIA

Yes, a battery with 1/2 to 2/3 the amperage of what you used to have will be considerably smaller. BMW went to the lower amp batteries with monoshock bikes---a flakey change for bikes with marginal OE charging systems and power-sucking Bosch starters and any accessory loads; probably OK with upgraded charging systems and Nippondenso starters. Keep your Deltran pigtail on it and use it.

It fits in with some nice space to spare. The oem bracket system will keep it nice and snug. It won't move around.
I used a piece of MDF board painted flat black under a small battery in my conversion for a couple of years. It was cut to the same footprint as the battery and raised it up to the correct height to match the cables. It blended right in and looked normal, well normal for me.

I've got a dick head proof battery in mine. Works a treat.
Wow, where did you get that?!!! Dickhead proofing anything is really very difficult, as natural selection is constantly improving the dickheadedness of the general population.
I'ma gonna fill up dat carrier dontcha know! I got some closed cell foam and black plastic sheeting. Do ya'll think there will be a problem if the battery is insulated by the foam, as far as heat is concerned? Battery has 325 CCA That should do the job. And......drum roll. IT WASN'T MADE IN CHINA
