Sorry, I don't have a better ic handy.
but I seem to remember that this one was fabricated by the owner / builder.
(An extremely nice bike, by the way ...)

Uhm, I know I've certainly handled automotive shocks in which the damping only worked correctly when the shock was right side up. They came from the factory with the instructions to stand them right side up and work them through a few cycles to work out air that would get into them when laying sideways in the box. And, in fact, they would have air in the damping circuits until they had been fully cycled a few times in the correct orientation.vanzen@rockerboxer.com wrote: Theoretically, the position of a shock will be of no consequence to the ability of the shock to work,
and although it's progressive characteristics will depend upon specific geometry,
more likely the downfall of the F-750 mono was a fault of spring rate, damping, or rebound choices.
Bear in mind that shocks of this period were not readily tunable / adjustable -
Well then no wonder the damn thing didn't work !Major Softie wrote: Uhm, I know I've certainly handled automotive shocks in which the damping only worked correctly when the shock was right side up. ... So, you're "theory" does not match with my experience.
I ran across that article a few years back and got a kick out of it. I'd say some feathers were ruffles somewhere along the line!Ken in Oklahoma wrote:Major Softie wrote:This couldn't be the famous "Eat Shit and Die" Capri BMW, could it? Naw, I'm pretty sure that was a K-bike. It does say "Turbo" though, right there on the rear seat cowl.![]()

Wow! That was a very interesting read major. We've heard here on Boxerworks what a crook Matt Capri is. The article showed some of the breadth and depth of it. Taking the article at face value it would appear that he left no stone unturned in his quest to fuck everybody every time.
From your link I went to the home page and "discovered" RB Racing. It's a loooong home page, but I reccommend scrolling down about 2/3 of the way and you will see some very cool exhaust systems billed as for a R100RS. I'm thinking they would fit my S bike just fine.![]()
