Most excellent little machine, Jeff. And for me, it has the added beauty of being made from the materials at hand - a fine Aussie tradition. I am confident that without that machine, you would have found a way to deal with it out on the road, but now you have removed the likelihood of that ever happening.

Now - and this is important - is there any other use it can be put to?

It only 'just' fits through the rear wheel. It could also be made using the next size down square hollow sections.

I found an ideal home for the bead breaker. Right where that useless tyre pump used to live.
Fits in there nicely, held in place with 5 cable ties.
Hangin' out to hit the road.

Along for the outback ride will be Ducati Pete on his GS1150, Mal from Dubbo will join us for Friday night on his R100/7
Another six 1150 and 1200 GS's will complete the squadron.

Friday night will be at the 'olde horse racing track' at Nymagee, NSW.

From Albury, head west to Berrigan and meet the other blokes, then Jerilderie, Darlington Point, Griffith, Goolgowi, Hilston, Mount Hope, Gilgunnia, turn off to Nymagee.

Next day we'll go to Cobar, and head out into no mans land to Louth, and then go west down the Darling River.

You gonna come up fer Fridee night?

I suppose it could be used as a measuring device used to ensure consistent production of one's recreational smoking materials. A "fatty caliper," as it were.
