My bike.

Piccie taken four months ago at a local bike show, it's first public display.

I restored it over several years, although final assembly was condensed to a six month period and completed four years ago. Done 20,000km since, in all weather and road conditions. Mostly standard, other than late model light clutch/flywheel, gearbox internals, torsion driveshaft and handlebar master cylinder. Oh, and the colour is not black it's dark metallic purple, with red pinstripes instead of gold. OK I'm a deviant, so sue me . . .

That is the only r90s paint/blending/striping combination I've ever seen that looks better (IMHO) overall than a OE SS paint job. And I know what I'm talking about, I had a brand new 75 SS r90s.
If it looks as good up close as it does in the pics, you've got a winner.
Congrats Max!

Thanks. Ironically, I'll be removing the bodywork off the bike late this year, and transferring it to another '76 R90S we bought last year and now awaiting a rebuild. Long story, too boring to bother repeating here, but the best bit is that the same painter who did this job for me will be painting another set of bodywork for this bike.

The plan is to tweak things a little, with hand-painted pinstripes this time (although some have mistaken the current ones for hand-painted as they have been clear-coated over) and a subtle red fleck instead of purple, but still in the same style as above. It'll probably happen just after Xmas.

Here's a couple of pictures of Col. Klink, my '67 conversion (by others). He is currently tugging a little red sidecar with tandum seats. See the sidecar sub-forum.

That is one BITCHIN' bike Stephen! I've seen many pictures of it, but it still grabs me every time.
