That was one complaint of the Reynolds luggage rack. It was stronger than the rear frame section and a crash would do bad things.

Something gotta give.

Think I'd rather replace a siderack which is has a lifetime free replacement warranty.

A lifetime warranty on a rack? I don't believe it.

The art is to pack lightly, and have everything you need.
Or, keep piling shit on the bike till you nearly can't get on. Either way works.

I'll bet Reynolds offered a similar warranty on their rear rack. You know, the one that bent rear subframes? (not to mention weighing quite a bit.)
