Well done, Doug - all the Rat Bike guys will be copying that setup.
I have serious envy about your upcoming Tassie trip. I'd love to do a lap of the map. Perfect time of the year, too.

For the Cold Flamers here is the forecast for next weekend -

Looking a bit moist, particularly on the Friday. Might change as we get closer.

May 10 is good for me too at this stage.
Yep - either date - and the Cold Flame rally at the Pinch River (Barry Way) is just 4 weeks off now.
Can we make this the weekend of the 10th?

Well, what a great weekend. Worth a quick write-up and a couple of pics - I didn't take many but others might add some.
DucatiPete, LaverdaLex and I rode the 300kms up through the lumpy bits on the Friday, arriving at the Pinch River site well before dark. We were able to grab the last remaining picnic table and get tents and a tarp up just before the expected rain. The folks there were very welcoming and friendly and we saw quite a few familiar faces from various Alpine rallies.
Anyway, here's a shot taken at the Pinch on the Saturday arvo around the time the Brothers Knox and the Benalla / Beechworth crew arrived. It got pretty crowded, but a good time was had by all.
Failed to take any more photos there. Got distracted or something. Anyway, we decided to shift camp to a quieter place for the Sunday night. This gave the chance to re-provision at Jindabyne, and a quick blat over towards Guthega to a spot recommended by Jeff. Here are some shots taken at a lookout on the Barry Way.

Jeff's RS and Pete:
LaverdaLex and Italian Moll:
The spot at Island Bend is just about perfect - nice soft grass by a big clear pool full of trout:
It was a good night of fine food, booze and bullshitting:
Monday included a scenic ride on gravel and smooth blacktop around the mountains before splitting up to go our separate ways. Pete, Jeff and I did the River Road with a nice stop at the Tintaldra pub for refreshment.
A great weekend - thanks all.

Gidday Steve. I think the 10th will be inconvenient for Pete because it's a work weekend. Expect him to contact you, but I believe he would prefer the 3rd. (I hope I've got that the right way round). I can do either, or even both (now there's a thought ...)
