I was thinking of setting up my GoPro for the camera, which has a time-lapse feature that could provide 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 second intervals.
While I have had the camera hooked up to my T.V. and seen live video feed (had to turn down the volume on the T.V. - feedback!), I haven't tried it in time-lapse mode.
4-day weekend coming up in a few hours!

It's easy Rob, you just set the self timer of the go-pro camera to, 'In between doing/saying all the dumb shit over the weekend'

Don't know if this is much of a barometer, but some You Tube videos require significant buffering while others will play through with only the initial buffering required.
I do have a Roku 2 XD unit still in the box. I reckon that would work as well as anything for streaming video.
Does it appear that I'm a tad computer illiterate/phobic?

Yes, Duane will be here. But you have to speak carefully. Be sure not to say anything about countersteering! For some strange reason he's touchy when you suggest that counteering is a valuable concept for developing riding skills.
I'm looking forward to meeting Duane too.
So countersteering is a taboo topic eh? Sort of like an oil or a tire thread? I did not know countersteering was so controversial. I wonder why Duane has something against the best and most effective way to maneuver a motorcycle - hands down.
But I will take your sage advice and not mention it to him.
I might talk about the best tires though.

Nah, what I said was mostly tongue-in-cheek. My take is that Duane doesn't mind at all setting people (like me, Doug Barlen, and others) straight on things.
And that would include countersteering. More specifically the notion we talked about was whether the principle of countersteering was or was not a valuble tool for teaching people how to ride motorcycles.

That would be fun wouldn't it. I've never done it, have you? I consulted Google and it looks like it should be doable with the aid of some free streaming services. Might be advertising injected though.
It might seriously tax the DSL also. Ken would not be able to update us on the weather, world events, or Paris Hilton.
I heard from SuperDave through the altbwforum and this is what he had to say:
Hey rob,
Randy sent me a link to the rally post. Some funny reading. [^]
.... I believe in Oklahoma thats called a "Game Camera"
You'll also need a 55 gallon beer feeder set up in front of it if'n you expect any action.
As far as moving the router Into the garage...
I'm thinking Ken might believe it only has the range of a 900mhz cordless phone. Just set it up in his house, close to the exterior wall nearest where he wants to broadcast if that's a concern. If he wants a computer in his shop (doesn't that seem somewhat sacrilegious) then he can pick up a wifi adaptor and connect to the router that way. We should be able to pick it up from the front gate at the very least.

I have all anyone could ever want up and down the trail for WiFi - up to and including down to the roundel at the front gate if that is really what is desired. - Just let me know. The fact you have DSL is likely far more menacing and a problem speed-wise than how a 54MBs or faster modem or router ever thought of being.
I'll be bringing this laptop which has a pretty current ETK on it for those late nights things that begin to make little sense to people anymore due to the spirits, tired, etc. -> Maybe I'll be messing with a radio and an inverted dipole by that time for fun.
Let me know. I have I would think 2-3 routers that are far faster than the signal coming in via your DSL and that is as fast as it can get.
I am also wondering if the extra crap I was going to try and rip people off with on eBay, if I should not just bring that box to the rally first and give you all first pickings...
I'm not out to get rich at all. I just want my beloved 'bike in a box back...' Saw her yesterday and boy is she dirty! Looks like a barn queen!
Let me know folks.
AND BTW,
THANKS FOR ADDING ME TO THE BIG MAP!

I would say bring one or two along, but I'm planning on buying a WiFi anyhow. It's something I've wanted here for a while and it sounds like an opportunity for me to have somebody to set it up.

Sure I can bring a box of WiFi, switches and routers and run you through some of the little "safety and installation woes for Windows, Linux or Apple, if you like.
All I was trying to lament was that the data I/O is directly proportionate to what speed DSL or any other connection you have as in the end they all share the same beandwidth up and out to the Worlld Wide Web,

Let me know. I'll be sadly Jeep Rubicon bound (it has its advantages - hot coffee central and all manner of other things I can do for the brotherhood just due to what I can and will be carrying...
