Just in case i eff up my generator upon removal, i have a friend who has a spare parts motor,
for his 600cc isetta.
do they by chance share the same generator?

i know it is an oddball question, but i'm guessing one of you might know the answer.
thanks always, nhoj

Check the diameter of the crank taper. Up to 1960 was smaller, 17mm, I think, and 20 mm after 60.

I thought Isettas where 250 and 300 singles. They had different generators. The 700 car used a twin engine sorta like a 600, but not sure about the generators. The Isetta single engine had the cooling fan on the front of the engine. It's been a while since I,ve seen one and can't remeber how the fan mounts around the generator.

Not much help.

I don't know, but you might ask the folks at http://www.cycleworks.com if they know. They sell parts and, I think, manuals for the Isettas.

There may be a lot of commonalilty between the R26 and the smaller Isetta engines. I don't think the twin BMWs have much that is similar.

I seem to remember that the generator is also the starter motor. If true, they would probably be quite different. I have seen them, but that was some 45 years ago.
