Making shift and brake pedals wider

I've had my 1993 R100R since June and am still getting used to it. But one thing I really want to change is the width of the shift and brake pedals. In my normal riding stance, I have to move my feet towards the center of the bike to hit the pedal. In fact, the brake pedal takes a bit of hunting to find, which is not what you want in an emergency. If the pedal stuck out another 2 inches, it would be right under my toe all the time. Likewise for the shifter, although there, probably an inch would do it.

Anyone else tried adding an extension to the pedal? Looks super easy to do.

Then just do it.

No, rarely described as an issue.

Whatever you do, don't heat and bend out. They don't like that.

If your brake pedal is the flat metal type, just pull it out (bend it) to where you want it.
DON"T TRY THIS WITH THE OLDER CAST ALUMINUM TYPES

The shifter 'nub' can be extended outwards using one of these,

or just improvise a long(er) tube/bolt/rubber setup.
and weld it to the end of the stock shifter.
